DOWNTOWN. You'll probably end up getting a workout at Bonham Exchange, although maybe not the one the original German owners of this former gymnasium intended. The Ramones, Iggy Pop, and Tina Turner have all graced Bonham, which describes itself as "San Antonio's premier progressive dance club." Three dance floors and four bars have taken over the 115-year-old building, attracting a truly diverse crowd to the longstanding local favorite. Daily drink specials are available; there's no cover charge for patrons 21 and over before 10pm.

RIVER WALK. Finally, a place to smoke a hookah at two in the morning! Club Rive meets the late-night needs of 20- and 30-somethings with four clubs in one. Take in live music in the Bubble Room, enjoy DJs and dancing in the Skydome and Tabu, and then sit back and smoke that hookah in the Hush Lounge. If that's not enough, special happenings like a fashion show focusing on vintage trends keep things interesting.

SAN ANTONIO. Hope those boots were made for walkin' (and dancin' and drinkin')! Cowboys Dancehall boasts two dance floors, seven bars, a mock western town, and a 20,000-square-foot arena. Bull riding and dancing lessons appear on the schedule regularly. Live music is the heart of the club, and the performance lineup is well-thought-out and extensive.

SAN ANTONIO. A mixed crowd congregates at this country and western haven until the wee hours, dancing on its signature race track dance floor.

ALAMO HEIGHTS. Framed pictures of Ghandi and Che Guevera might inspire you to start an uprising...or maybe just to start dancing. Dim lighting and blue neon illuminate the underground dance floor where 20- and 30-somethings groove to DJ-spun tunes. Pool tables and a hookah room mix up the tone even further. Revolution Room's sister, Rebar, is right across the street, but Revolution is a wise alternative when you're feeling just a little rebellious.
